PPP5001 - Group Development & Change Management

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 Demonstrate an understanding of team development, team dynamics and how to engender team focus
2 Evaluate management styles in relation to change management, including psychological theory related to an individual’s or organisation’s ability to change
3 Reflect on their own ability to institute and accommodate change

Content:

In this module, students will consider the development of teams, from defining their focus to establishing and understanding team dynamics. Students will reflect on their own role within a team. Students will be introduced to management of teams, including theories related to how to manage a team through change. They will consider changes they have experienced within their professional role and evaluate the team role within this change and the overall effectiveness of the process.

Learning and Teaching Information:

Learning will take place in interactive sessions incorporating theoretical input, discussion, debate, ICT research and student presentation. Students will be supported by VLE materials, constructed reading and research tasks and workshop sessions.
