PPP4013 - Negotiated Module 1

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

Negotiate learning outcomes related to the application of the theoretical perspectives explored in the course in an appropriate context defined by the student, with a focus on the individual
Design an appropriate form of assessment to meet the expectations of Level 1 study including a demonstration of appropriate academic skills
Demonstrate an ability to construct a supported argument, logically organise their response and present it in an appropriate form

Content:

In this module students are able to create learning outcomes and assessment modes that provide the flexibility for them to apply theoretical understanding to a chosen context. This could include a work based project or intervention or an alternative profession or work setting to their own. Students can negotiate a theoretical study, a practical project or a placement (particularly appropriate to those who are using the degree programme to transfer from one profession to another).

Learning and Teaching Information:

This is a negotiated, self-managed module. Students will receive an initial tutorial to establish the learning outcomes and appropriate assessment methods. They will engage in online support and students will be expected to schedule two further tutorials either face to face, online or by telephone to ensure progression and the academic rigour.
