On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
(1) Evaluate policy related to the welfare and safety of children and how these relate to the rights of children and families and the professional roles and responsibilities of those working with them
(2) Critically review case study material related to situations arising from the care of young children and their families, evaluating how an Early Years setting can be managed to overcome challenges
(3) Analyse the roles and responsibilities of all those who work in extended children’s services and how this can support management of Early Years settings
(4) Assess the workplace in terms of personnel, practice and policy in meeting legislative guidelines, Early Years Foundation Stage and Every Child Matters principles
