Additional Assessment Information

Numeric marks will be given for the portfolio and report. A pass mark must be obtained in all three elements of assessment. An overall numeric mark will be returned. An overall pass mark is mandatory for progression to level 3.
Not available as a half module.
Where a student has an agreed volunteering position, they may negotiate with the module co-ordinator to conduct their placement over an extended period from October to February.

Other Information

Students with special needs will be advised to seek support from the Disability Co-ordinator.
Normally a student will be ineligible to undertake the placement without completion of the pre-placement programme and the required communication of placement details to the Employer Partnership Office.
An extended volunteering project would only be approved by the module co-ordinator where the student can demonstrate sufficient commitment and interest such that an extended placement is likely to succeed. The student would normally be interviewed prior to approval and would need to show evidence of agreement from a volunteering provider. All other aspects of their PDPM course would be identical to other students.
The practical element is normally of 6 weeks’ duration. If a full six week placement is not possible an alternative project, which meets the module learning outcomes and involves an equivalent workload, will be agreed between the student, the supervisor and the EPO.
