On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
(1) demonstrate an understanding of basic nutritional principles;
(2) identify factors influencing young people's eating and exercise patterns;
(3) demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the relationships between nutrition, physical activity and health;
(4) discuss a range of relevant health topics such as obesity, eating disorders, substance use and misuse; emotional and mental health;
(5) write a literature review and make an effective oral presentation.

Psycho-social, cultural and environmental determinants of exercise behaviour
Physical activity, nutrition and health: obesity, osteoporosis, diabetes, coronary heart disease, disordered eating, self-esteem, mental health and alcohol and tobacco use and abuse; how to write a literature review and conduct oral presentation skills
