On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
1 Critically review the work of a range of children’s services, their roles and responsibilities in light of legal responsibilities and expectations
2 Critically review legislation related to multi agency working and evaluate the impact on the extended schools environment
3 Evaluate their own work place and personal practice in terms of a multi agency, coordinated response to children’s, young people’s and families’ welfare and support
This work-based module will explore the impact of recent legislation and agendas on the individual student’s work place and practices. This will be contextualized within the wider children’s services environment; legislation, national and regional strategies and developments.
Students will be expected to carry out an investigation into developments related to multi agency working and the impact of these on the people with whom they work as well as on their own practice.
