PEY6052 - The Reflective Practitioner

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 Reflect on their own professional aspirations and how these can be attained 2 Critically evaluate key documentation and theory related to effective practice in the professions related to children’s services
3 Critically review professional skills, occupational standards and the skills of reflective practice

Content:

In this module students will be expected to consider the professional skills associated with working with young children, youth or adults and how they can engage in reflection and personal, professional development.

They will be expected to evaluate professions within the extended schools environment, in terms of the theories, research and documentation related to good practice.

Learning and Teaching Information:

Learning will take place in interactive sessions incorporating theoretical input, discussion, debate, ICT research and student presentation. Students will be supported by VLE materials, constructed reading and research tasks and workshop sessions.
