PEY5052 - Work Placement

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1. Evaluate the skills required for employability in a relevant post
2. Evaluate their theoretical understanding in a practical context
3. Critically reflect on their personal and professional development

Content:

This module will involve three stages: preparation, work placement and reflection.

Preparation: students will undergo a series of workshops in which they will consider employability skills and the practicalities of gaining and undertaking a work placement in a relevant occupation related to their field of study.

Work placement: students will find themselves a placement and undertake a period of employment in an appropriate setting.

Reflection: students will complete a report reflecting upon the practical skills gained through the experience and what they have learnt about the application of theoretical understanding in a practical setting.
