LMCM4013 - Leadership

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1 Critically evaluate a range of Government policies and guidelines on integrated working
2 Demonstrate a critical understanding of the key roles and responsibilities of personnel within the children’s workforce
3 Critically analyse the Government guidance and information on information sharing to enable early intervention and preventative work to help children, young people and families
4 Critically reflect on their own experiences of integrated working and information sharing in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and families

Content:

In this module students will critically review the Government policy and guidelines relating to Every Child Matters and outcomes from legislation since 2004 such as integrated working. It will look in depth at current tools and structures available to facilitate integrated working for key role holders.

It will require students to reflect in depth to analyse their own work situations and practices in relation to integrated working, information sharing and engagement with children, young people and families.

Learning and Teaching Information:

Learning will take place in interactive sessions incorporating theoretical input, discussion, debate, ICT research, and action learning sets. Students will be supported by VLE materials, directed reading and workshop sessions. Students will be expected to keep up-to-date with Government policy and guidelines by frequent reference to appropriate websites.
