Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

(1) Produce an applied research project appropriate to the subject specialism
(2) Demonstrate awareness of the processes of researching, planning and information gathering associated with best professional practice
(3) Present a research project that demonstrates professional standard production values

Content:

This module will require students to develop professionally relevant skills of academic critical reflection upon the applied nature of journalism in their areas of specialist interest. Initial lectures will set the context and structure of the modules and consider key research methods; thereafter students will work independently to produce a research project.

Learning and Teaching Information:

The number of groups for tutorials will depend on the number of students registered for the module. Lecturers from across the disciplines will be involved in supervision as appropriate.

001 Research Proposal 1 x 1000 words 20%
