FWB5032 - Workplace Wellbeing Intervention: Groups (Lifestyle)

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1. demonstrate negotiation and project planning skills to develop an applied workplace wellbeing intervention
2. apply theoretical skills to a practical application
3. show critical reflection and evaluation throughout the intervention and produce a meaningful final evaluation

Content:

Drawing upon material and skills developed in earlier modules, students will develop and negotiate a specific wellbeing intervention in the workplace with a recruited group of volunteers. The intervention will be focused upon working with groups on lifestyle interventions. The intervention will be negotiated with all stakeholders with SMART objectives; record keeping will include a timeline and business-case for the intervention; Well-Q will form an integral part of the module. This module will focus upon lifestyle issues such as physical activity, body-weight issues, nutrition, healthy diet, cooking on a budget, smoking cessation.

Learning and Teaching Information:

Blend of lecture-led sessions supported by seminars and tutorials.
Independent study to include research, reading and weekly work-based learning tasks.
Documenting and evaluating using personal reflective learning journal.

Assessment:

001 Action Plan of intervention sessions with objectives, 50%
002 Reflective report of work with group 1 x 3000 words 50%
