FWB4022 - Communicating Health & Wellbeing Messages

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

1. identify sources of wellbeing information and appraise their application to the workplace
2. demonstrate professional competence in effective communication through a range of appropriate media
3. summarise and simplify scientific research for dissemination to a wider (workplace) audience

Content:

Sources of information and skill sets for Wellbeing Champions, including; public speaking, using power point, desktop publishing. Evaluating and adapting existing wellbeing policies, campaigns and promotional materials.
Adapting the message for different audiences. Interpretation of scientific data and research for wider dissemination. Characteristics of successful campaigns. Cost effectiveness.

Learning and Teaching Information:

Blend of lecture-led sessions supported by seminars and tutorials.
Independent study to include research, reading and weekly work-based learning tasks.
Documenting and evaluating within personal learning journal.
