BAM5202 - Professional Development and Placement II

Objectives:

On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:

(1) identify principles of effective interpersonal relationships and team working
(2) demonstrate knowledge of performance processes in relation to work roles
(3) demonstrate self reliance in relation to problems encountered at work
(4) criticall analyse the aims, structure, procedures and effectiveness of a specific organisation
(5) apply knowledge and skills in the workplace and perform to a satisfactory standard

Content:

A one day pre-placement conference convering:

Work related problems
Interpersonal skills
Team work
Assessment and appraisal
Discussion with Placement Tutor

Placement with suitable organisation(s), normally six weeks in total.

Reflection and evaluation on the placement.

Learning and Teaching Information:

Day conference: presentations and briefings, discussion, workshops and practical activities relating to the requirements of the Portfolio.

Individual tutorials with Placement Tutor / Progress Tutor before the placement.
